Frequently Asked Questions
how do I order a pet portrait?
The first step is to view all my sizes and styles (see portraits on paper here, and portraits on panel here). Once you’ve chosen your preferred size and style, fill out the order form. You will then receive an email from me within 2 business days. You will also receive an invoice for a deposit of 50% of the total cost. Once that’s paid, you’ll be officially added to my commissions calendar!
The second step will be collecting reference photos. You can find a little guide here that will help you take or choose photos that will help me make the best possible portrait. You can send those via email, making and sharing a google drive folder with me, or sending them via Instagram message. Feel free to send as many photos as you like- I will let you know which ones work the best as references.
Then, you can relax and wait for your portrait to be completed! I will send you an email when I get started, and then update you once I have nearly finished your portrait. At this point, you can provide feedback and I will be happy to make any changes that I am able to. Finally, I will send a second invoice for the remainder of the payment, and once that’s completed, I’ll get your painting packed up to mail to you. You will be updated with a tracking number (I ship via USPS, usually Ground Advantage).
what is the turnaround time for a pet portrait?
My turnaround time varies a bit throughout the year. Usually, I’m booked about 4-6 weeks in advance, but I start booking for the holidays even earlier.
Can you paint other pets besides dogs and cats?
Yes!! I’ve painted several non traditional pet portraits- guinea pigs, horses, birds, reptiles, and rats! Feel free to send me an email or fill out the contact form if you have a specific question about non-traditional pet portraits.
